Mitchelstown Community Enterprise Centre – Education
The availability of a skilled workforce can typically be correlated to the level of education within that workforce. Mitchelstown has excellent educational facilities with two primary schools and 4 secondary schools in the town. There is also the OZNAM centre which run computer courses many of which are FETAC accredited. Third level institutions are located within a 50 to 75 minute drive at Cork, Limerick, Thurles and Clonmel.

Adult Literacy:
This voluntary organistion was set up to reach people with difficulties in reading. A voluntary organisation, it has been present for the last fourteen years, servicing Mitchelstown and the surrounding areas. The students usually come to the home of their personal tutor, and are usually with the organisation for approximately 18 months.
