Mitchelstown Community Enterprise Centre – Fishing

Mitchelstown is centrally located in an extensive river network, and the fisherman has an excellent choice of game and coarse fishing. The Funshion runs past the town and is popular for trout and pike. The Mitchelstown Fishing Club has been in existence since 1950. The club controls fishing from the source of the Funshion to Burkes Bridge. It practises recreational fishing only, for brown trout. There is a six bag limit and only trout greater than 9 inches may be kept.
